NERONI • CLAVDIO • DRVSO • GERM • COS • DESIGN •, bareheaded and draped bust of young Nero right / EQVESTER/ OR DO/ PRINCIPI/ IVVENT in four lines on a shield; behind it, a vertical spear, point upward. RIC I 78 (Claudius); von Kaenel Type 53, 964 (V821/R– [unlisted rev. die]); Lyon 88 (Claudius); Calicó 407 (this coin illustrated); BMCRE 90-2 (Claudius); BN 94-5; Adda 29; Biaggi 223; Mazzini 96. A few marks and edge bruises, die break on reverse, some earthen deposits. Good VF. Struck from the same obverse die as the example in The Bibliothèque Royale Albert I in Brussels.
