Leo I, with Leo II as Caesar. AD 457-474. AV Solidus (19mm, 4.39 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck October AD 473-January 474. D N LEO PE RPET AVG, pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear in right hand over right shoulder and shield in left / SALVS REI PVBLICAE C, Leo I and Leo II, nimbate, enthroned facing; star above cross between them, the throne with back and curved sides; CONOB. RIC X 638; Depeyrot 92/1; DOCLR 533. Lustrous. Near EF. Very rare.

The "C" at the end of the legend on reverse stands for "Caesar", the title conferred on Leo II.
