Edge printed: E CIVITATE VATICANA 285/900. All: 44mm. AV Medal: 59.98 g, .917 gold // AR Medal: 40.04 g, .966 silver // Æ Medal: 38.95 g. Choice EF. In original box and case of issue, with certificate numbered 285/900. Three (3) medals in lot. Extremely rare error.

The 2013 annual medal, designed by Mariangela Ciesciotti, included an unfortunate misspelling in the reverse legend: IESVS was written as LESVS. The error was quickly noticed and the sale of the medals suspended. Only a limited number made it into the hands of collectors, making this medal, and particularly the three-medal set, an important modern rarity.
