Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. AR Denarius (18.5mm, 3.64 g, 6h). Uncertain Spanish mint (Colonia Patricia?). Struck circa 19 BC. CAESAR AVGVSTVS, bare head left / SIGNIS to left, RECEPTIS to right, Mars, helmeted, naked except for cloak hanging from shoulders over left arm, standing left, head right, holding aquila in right hand and signum cradled in left. RIC I 82b; RSC 259 var. (head right); BMCRE 414 var. = BMCRR Rome 4405 var. (same); BN 1118-1119 var. (same); Mazzini 262. Toned, scratches under tone, traces of deposits. VF. Rare variety with head left.
