IMP • IX • TR • PO • IV, bare head right / S • P • R •/ SIGNIS/ RECEPTIS in three lines in space below arch, triumphal arch surmounted by quadriga facing; before each side-wall an aquila; IMP • IX • TR • PO • IV across entablature. RIC I 508; Sutherland Group VIIα, 447a (O2/R2); RPC I 2216; RSC –; BMCRE –; BMCRR East –; BN –. Lightly toned. VF. Sutherland lists only two coins and two obverse dies for this issue. Extremely rare, none in CoinArchives (correctly attributed), and neither the British Museum nor the Bibliothèque Nationale possess an example.
