ANCIENT Black Hematite cylinder seal. Circa 1300-800 BC. (2.76 gm; 12mm x 9mm). Seated Deity or ruler in typical garb being catered to with drink. Various animals are shown around the ruler including bird (behind the Deity or King's ear) as a messenger symbol, dog (loyalty supporting the throne) behind the throne. A bull or a goat riding on a dragon(?) (live stocks in comfort and away from harm) in front of the king at the bottom of the scene. Two priest like figures shown in ritual near incense burner facing sun and crescent moon as well as a singular star which represents the star of the realm. Cypress tree symbolizes mourning and passing to the other world. More than likely this was a commemorative of someone's life and his afterlife. Excellent condition. Very rare.
