ATTICA. Athens. Circa 454-404 B.C. AR tetradrachm. 17.21 gm. 23 mm. Helmeted head of Athena right, with archaic eye / Owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig and crescent behind; ΑΘΕ before. HGC 4, 1597. Kroll 8. SNG Copenhagen 31. Good Very Fine; rich old toning; fine style; good metal; well centered and well struck on slightly oblong flan, including full design; a few minor green deposits (mainly on edge from 7'-8' obverse).
From an American collection formed in the 1950's with coins purchased from major London houses at the time.
