King seated on a Gothic throne with shield of France to his left / Ornate cross in a quatrefoil, trefoils in angles with two annulets in first and third angles. Fr. 270 var. Duplessy 249c. Ciani 285 (A scarcer variety). Near Extremely Fine; attractive and well struck, with a particularly sharp portrait and clear depiction of the king; fresh lightly toned red-gold surfaces. Held by four prongs in a silver bezel with a double-loop at 12'.
