GREAT BRITAIN. Sovereign, 1544-47. London Mint; im: Lis. Henry VIII. PCGS EF-45 Gold Shield.
S-2290; Fr-173; N-1824. Weight: 12.71 gms. The single finest certified on either the NGC or PCGS population reports, none finer. Obverse: Henry seated facing on highly ornate throne, holding lis-tipped scepter and orb; Tudor rose below; Reverse: Crowned coat-of-arms, with leonine and draconic supporters. A RARE issue that seldom appears on the market in problem free conditions exhibiting a bold even strike on a somewhat wavy planchet normally encountered on issues of this nature with signs of handling consistent for the grade while the surfaces are free any major marks or abrasions. Lovely light sunset hued patina radiates from the devices coupled with a pale golden color on the high points offers a pleasing appearance with much originality. A very attractive representative of the type sure to catch the attention of many collectors looking for tough to locate problem free issues worthy of serious consideration.

Estimate: $15000.00- $25000.00
