GREAT BRITAIN. Sovereign (30 Shillings), ND (1592-95). London Mint; im: Tun. Elizabeth I. NGC AU-58.
S-2529; Fr-209; North-2003. Sixth issue. Obverse: ELIZABETH D G ANG FRA ET HIB REGINA, Elizabeth, holding lis-tipped scepter and orb, seated facing on ornate Gothic throne; all within tressure of arches; portcullis with chains below; Reverse: A DNO FACTV EST ISTV DEI EST IMIRAB IN OCVL NRS, coat-of-arms at center of Tudor rose. An exceedingly attractive and brilliant example of this large, broad type, offering great golden-orange color and hardly any evidence of handling. Given the fact that many from this issue can exhibit some strike and/or flan problems, the overall quality offered here is rather extraordinary and should attract a great deal of interest and enthusiasm for this popular queen and final monarch from the Tudor dynasty.
