Fr-925 (same in KM). Struck for Piacenza. Obverse: FRANCISCVS FARNESIVS, bare head right; Reverse: DVX VII PAR ET PLA, crowned and garnished coat-of-arms. A VERY RARE and alluring issue, as this cataloger could locate just two other specimens to cross the auction block in the previous two decades. Despite its prior use in jewelry, this example will undoubtedly attract a good deal of attention from those attempting to assemble the pinnacle of gold rarities from the 17th century.
