MEXICO. 8 Escudos, 1809-Mo HJ. Mexico City Mint. Ferdinand VII. NGC MS-63★.
KM-160; Onza-1253. Variety with ET-IND legend. Exceptional quality for the issue, displaying few contact marks and extremely radiant fields that, on the obverse, are on the cusp of fully prooflike. Equally gratifying, if not more so, is the strike, which is among the finest seen for the date, depicting a chiseled portrait of Ferdinand VII and sharp detail within the reverse shield that is seldom exceeded; an unquestionably sharper coin than even the NGC-graded MS-66★ that was sold last year for $24,000.
From the Oro del Nuevo Mundo Collection.
Estimate: $3000.00- $4000.00
