Fr-6; KM-57.3; Cal-Type 295 # 2212 (plate coin); Cayon-9946; Grove-878; Oro Macuqino-396; Onza-396. Date on reverse, VERY RARE one year type. "V" over inverted "V" in denomination. Crowned arms of Spain, consisting of Castile and Leon, Catalonia - Aragon, Sicily, Austria, Burgundy, Brabant, Flanders and Tyrol; denomination "VII" right, mintmark and assayers letter "MoJ" left; legend around; Reverse: Bar-tipped cross with fleurs-de-lis in quarters within quadrilobe all within bead border, legend around. A handsome example of the type on a nice round planchet exhibiting bold complete central devices, mintmark/assayers letter, denomination, partial king's name, partial ordinal and bold full four-digit date on the reverse. Minimal evidence of being double struck as is commonly encountered on issues of this nature mostly confined to a small portion of the obverse legend with minor doubling noticed on the shield. A wholesome survivor displaying lovely pale gold color with areas of mottled pale orange hues mostly on the reverse. A highly desirable type offering good eye appeal with attributes many collectors seek certain to garner much attention from bidders.
