Obverse: Three interlocking rings (representing the three guarantees of religion, union, and independence); below, two globes displaying the Western and Eastern hemispheres, unchained; Reverse: PRIMA EPOCHA above wreath. Loop attached at the top. Awarded by Augustin I Iturbide to independence fighters who served before March 1821, this plated specimen does exhibit numerous scuffs and marks to the surfaces, as well as a few minor bruises, but nevertheless stands as a solid example from this important and historic period of Mexican history.
