S-3767A; KM-not listed. Bank of England countermark (the famous "head of a fool on the neck of an ass"); Bust of George III right utilized from the then current 6 Pence within octagonal indent. On a 1793-M MF Spain bust 4 Reales of Charles IIII (IV). The countermark is deeply applied with bold details and crisp well defined shaped border. A fully original looking moderately worn example of this highly sought after denomination for the countermark variety that seldom appears on the market and should be considered VERY RARE. Lovely rich mottled cabinet patina with areas of lighter coloration atop of the devices accentuated by an iridescent sheen that pops out when tilted in the light.
