KM-109; Basso-43. Type VI Countermark, crowned Y.II. within circle. Issued by decree of 20 December 1834, suppressed 31 March 1837 (By Decree of 1 February 1836). Applied to the obverse of an 1835-RS Columbin Republic 8 Reales (KM-89). A SCARCER host type for this popular countermark, the present piece features light gray surfaces that are otherwise free from issue. The countermark itself is slightly uneven with some of the detail is not fully struck up.
