DOMITIAN, A.D. 81-96. Syria, Seleucis and Pieria, Antioch. AR Tetradrachm (14.80 gms), dated "New Holy Year" 7 (A.D. 88/9). NGC Ch VF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 2/5. Light Smoothing.
RPC-II, 1978; McAlee-398; Prieur-145. Obverse: Laureate bust right, wearing aegis; Reverse: Eagle, with wings spread, standing right on thunderbolt; to right, H (date) above palm frond. The noted smoothing occurs in the fields, while there are also some scattered cleaning marks in and around the legends. Nevertheless, a solid issue from this larger provincial silver series under the Flavians.
