HERACLIUS WITH HERACLIUS CONSTANTINE, 610-641. AV Solidus (4.47 gms), Uncertain eastern military mint, 613-617. NGC Ch AU, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 3/5. Light Scratches, Wavy Flan.
S-851 (Jerusalem). Obverse: Crowned and draped facing busts of Heraclius and Heraclius Constantine; cross above, heavy exergual line below; Reverse: Cross potent set upon three steps; I//CONOB. Obviously possessing a bit more of a bizarre style than what is usually encountered, this type was theorized to have been produced in Jerusalem, but more recent scholarship points simply toward a military mint in the Near East. Regardless, a SCARCER type for sure.
