BOHEMIA. Guldentaler, 1563. Kuttenberg Mint. Ferdinand I. VERY FINE Details.
Weight: 24.38 gms. A well-detailed example with a few planchet stress cracks and traces of corrosion.

The first large silver coins of Germany were called guldenthalers and were worth 60 Kreuzer. The Guldentaler, quickly shortened to Gulden, remained fixed at 60 Kreuzer while the Taler, containing about an ounce of silver, advanced to 72 Kreuzer, then 90 Kreuzer and finally 120 Kreuzer. At the time this coin was minted, the Gulden was 5/6 of a Taler.

Estimate: $70.00- $100.00
