GREAT BRITAIN. Groat, ND (1431-1432/33). Calais Mint; im: cross patonce/plain cross. Henry VI. ANACS VF-30.
S-1875; N-1461. Pinecone-mascle issue. Obverse: Crowned facing bust within tressure of arches; Reverse: Long cross pattee, with trefoil in each quarter. Quite attractively toned and well struck for the type, with clear legends throughout.

The naming of this type emanates from the stops used among the obverse and reverse legends, with the mascle represented as the lozenge or diamond-shaped symbol, and the pinecone as the spade-like symbol with a stem.

Estimate: $150.00- $300.00
