GREAT BRITAIN. Elizabeth II Gold Coronation Medal, 1953. PCGS SPECIMEN-61 Gold Shield.
BHM-4448; Eimer-2086b. Diameter: 32 mm. Weight: 16.91 gms. Struck in 9 ct. gold. By Spink & Son. Obverse: Crowned and draped bust right; Reverse: Facade of Buckingham Palace; clover, rose, and thistle (representing Northern Ireland, England, and Scotland) in exergue. As no official medals were made for this monumental coronation, many private companies filled the void. This charming type was originally sold at the price of £25, obviously increasing in value mightily during the extensive reign of Elizabeth II. Exceedingly brilliant, with some lightly scattered marks consistent with the grade assigned.
Estimate: $800.00- $1200.00
