Issued banknotes and Specimen from the Merchant Bank of Halifax are scarce and in-demand, with 19th-century examples being exceedingly rare. At the time of cataloging, this 1896 Specimen is one of only two examples graded in the PMG Population Report. In fact, we have never offered this type in Specimen form.
