Canada Toronto, CW- Royal Canadian Bank $5 26.7.1865 Pick S1944 Ch.# 635-12-02-04 PMG Fine 12. Issued before the Dominion of Canada was created in 1867, this incredible banknote was issued in "Canada West," a term used before westward expansion. Toronto is a global city today, but in 1865, it was the gateway to the huge expanse of land to the west. Although we have offered a few issued banknotes and prototypes from the Royal Canadian Bank, we have never offered this denomination. In fact, we have only offered one example from the 1865 series, which was a $2 note, back in 2013. That example graded PMG 10, and sold for $4,993. This example, grading better and being a higher denomination, should easily eclipse that number. Extremely rare and worthy of consideration. At the time of cataloging, it is the only example graded in the PMG Population Report. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/canada-toronto-cw-royal-canadian-bank-5-2671865-pick-s1944-ch-635-12-02-04-pmg-fine-12/p/4028-16001.s?type=CoinArchivesCurrency4028 HID08706262019 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
