China Russo-Chinese Bank, Peking 1 Dollar 9.1903 (ND 1904-14) Pick S522 S/M#O5 PMG Very Fine 20. Every once and a while a banknote appears, one that keeps the hobby strong by proving that even the rarest of types could eventually be found. This Russo-Chinese Bank issue, released into circulation in September of 1903, is exactly that. There is no pricing history for this note, and at the time of cataloging, this is the only example graded in the PMG Population Report. The Russo-Chinese bank had a long history in China, beginning in 1895. The majority of banknotes prepared and issued by this bank are rare today, but notes from this early 20th century series were thought to be impossible. Denominated in Dollars, this note features text in Roman, Cyrillic, and Chinese. Printed and manuscript signatures are seen on both sides. A rusty paper clip dent is seen at top, but it is of little consequence, as the rarity of this banknote overshadows any of its shortcomings. Of the highest degree of rarity and worthy of serious consideration, it is not possible to predict if or when another example could appear. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/china-russo-chinese-bank-peking-1-dollar-91903-nd-1904-14-pick-s522-s-m-o5-pmg-very-fine-20/p/4028-27015.s?type=CoinArchivesCurrency4028 HID08706262019 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
