Cuba Banco Nacional de Cuba 2 Pesos ND (1905) Pick 66 PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. This rare denomination from the 1905 series is desirable in that it circulated for only a few days at most before being hastily withdrawn. In the early 20th century, the National Bank of Cuba was a private bank, as opposed to the public bank which began issuing notes in 1948. Although this was a private bank at the time, it needed government approval to issue banknotes, which apparently it did not have. So, once the government noticed this issue in circulation, it immediately called for its withdrawal. As such, any extant banknote from the 1905 issue is a prize today, a so few exist.
