French Antilles Institut d'Emission des Departements d'Outre-Mer 50 Nouveaux Francs on 5000 Francs ND (1961) Pick 3s Specimen PCGS Currency Gem New 66PPQ. The first series of notes created for the overarching French Antilles was overprinted on existing banknotes, but with new margins. The previous issues for each specific colony featured the adjusted face value in the watermark area, but had only one country printed in the margins. These new types show a repeating type "Guadeloupe Guyane Martinique". This Specimen was for the highest denomination of the series, and it is quite rare in such a lofty grade. Small overprints and perforated cancellations are seen, which do not detract from the overall appearance. No Gem-quality Specimen have been offered in public auction in the past.
