In 1868, Carlos Manuel de Cespedes declared Cuba independent from Spain, essentially beginning the Ten Years War. For liberated regions of Cuba, currency notes were created and issued. This interesting, large format sheet of 16 uncut notes is both rare and pleasing. A National Archives stamp is seen at back.
