Spain Banco de Espana 50 Pesetas 1927 (ND 1931) Pick 72b PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ. A stock of 10 million 1927 dated 50 Pesetas notes were printed, but two major varieties are known. The notes were originally issued by the Kingdom of Spain. However in 1931, the deposition of Alfonso XIII led to the Second Spanish Republic. The original stock was embossed with a handstamp in the upper left corner to signify issuance under the new government. It is this small issuance under the Second Republic that is incredibly rare. Here today, we have two consecutively numbered examples in exemplary Gem 66 EPQ condition. https://currency.ha.com/itm/world-currency/spain-banco-de-espana-50-pesetas-1927-nd-1931-pick-72b-pmg-gem-uncirculated-66-epq/p/4028-31045.s?type=CoinArchivesCurrency4028 HID08706262019 © 2020 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
