Kweichow. Republic "Auto" Dollar Year 17 (1928) XF40 NGC, KM-Y428, L&M-609, Kann-757, WS-1109. Two blades of grass variety. Struck during the 17th year of the Republic by Chow Hsi Chien, the Governor of Kweichow province, to commemorate the completion of the provincial highway in Kweichow. It is purported that the car featured in the design was meant to represent the Governor's personal automobile, thus the nickname for the type - the Auto Dollar. The specimen displays balanced circulation wear across its surfaces, these very nearly absent of any attention-grabbing marks and bestowed with an olive-green tone. An ever-popular and iconic Chinese type, one sure to be met with spirited bidding.
