Czechoslovakia
Republic gold 10 Dukatu 1929 MS67+ NGC, KM14, Fr-4. The first date in the series and one of only 1,564 struck. Preserved in a virtually unseen state of technical quality, the highly lustrous character of the surfaces matched by impeccable striking detail and a serene calmness in the fields, which are notably lacking in any significant marks or distractions. The only features of note are a few swirled lines immediately above the lion's claws on the reverse, apparently the result of lint or other matter interfering with the strike, rendering these a strikethrough error, as opposed to post-mint handling. Very rare in this condition, and the absolute finest example certified across both NGC and PCGS to date, a fact that is unlikely to change any time soon at this prestigious technical level.
