Charles I 1/2 Crown ND (1636-1638) MS60 NGC, Tower mint (under Charles I), Tun mm, Third Horseman, S-2773, N-2209, Brooker-334-339. 14.74gm. Conditionally speaking, a complete anomaly in the Charles I hammered 1/2 Crown series. One of only seven 1/2 Crowns of any date or variety from Charles's reign to have been awarded a Mint State grade by NGC, and the sole piece for this Spink number. The offering appears almost icy--a matte salt-gray patina permeating its surfaces while its flan is almost 'regular' and boasts full legends. A representative with which it is difficult to draw comparisons.
