Victoria Proof "Gothic" Florin 1871 PR63 NGC, KM746.2, S-3893, ESC-2875 (R4). Plain edge. Medal alignment. The perfect constellation of rarity and technical preservation, its R4 rating in English Silver Coinage suggesting only around 11-20 known, at the same time showing an ideal cabinet patina that pairs gunmetal surface tones on the obverse with gold device highlights while blush predominates on the reverse. The first such specimen we have seen, with few appearing to have become available in recent years.
