Edward VII gold 5 Pounds 1902 MS61 PCGS, KM807, S-3965. An uncirculated example of this popular issue, in which 27,000 pieces of the original 35,000 minted were melted, leaving behind just 8,000 specimens--the majority of which were struck in a matte Proof finish. As a currency strike, this selection displays bright golden surfaces and tinges of amber tone throughout. Despite contact marks and other various forms of handling, the strike over both sides retains a pleasing crispness.
