Stanislaus Augustus silver Pattern 1/2 Taler 1771 MS61 PCGS, KM-Pn104, Parchimowicz-1267a. A steel-gray representative of this decidedly difficult 1/2 taler pattern issue, struck under the authority of Stanislaw August Poniatowski, the last monarch of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth who reigned as King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania from 1764 to 1795. The presentation of this piece is nearly medallic, with soaring design motifs anchored in the soft embrace of cupric and iridescent blue tone. Only rarely seen on auction, and highly collectible in this fetching Mint State preservation.
