Catherine II gold 10 Roubles 1772-CПБ AU Details (Mount Removed) NGC, St. Petersburg mint, KM-C79a, Bit-25 (R). Mintage: 51,000. Amongst the more difficult dates in this already challenging 10 Roubles series, and one which comes almost universally in cleaned, circulated, or mounted states, with this being only the third example we have handled. As such, the present piece is comparatively fine for the issue, with just a single straight-graded AU50 standing as the finest currently certified by NGC.
