THAILAND: Rama VI, 1910-1925, AR medal (18.59g), BE2463 (1920), 33 x 42mm, oval silver medal commemorating the cremation of Queen Saovabha Phongsri (1864-1919, daughter of Mongkut, half-sister and Queen of Rama V, and mother of Rama VI & Rama VII), four-horse chariot galloping above clouds // above, incuse inscriptions from the dharma in Pali and Khmer script below within wreath, Queen Saovabha Phongsri 's name and year of death in Thai, purple toning with flares of iridescence, faint hairlines, choice EF. The Pali inscription reads "Gentle mother, guard the prince born from thy body. Tis ' but the singular child of life, and even as life dares abandon its post, with the child it is as it was before. / Let the being incite feelings of mercy and love where it goes as here there are few. Look to all the living creatures in this world. It is thus."
