Roman Coins, Maximian (AD 286 – 305), AE antoninianus, Cyzicus, IMP C MA – MAXIMIANVS AVG B, radiate and draped bust right, rev. CONCORDIA MIL – ITVM, emperor standing right, holding parazonium and receiving Victory on a globe from Jupiter, 3.82g. (RIC V 607 var.), slight crack through bottom of bust, otherwise good very fine
With ticket recording type, and states 'my first Roman coin! Philippa Savery 25/11/54'. Philippa Savery went on to own an antiques shop and was a campaigner for the historic preservation of Bath, where she lived in a restored Georgian house; clearly her affection for history never diminished!
