Nero. A.D. 54-68. Æ sestertius. 24.41 gm. 35 mm. Lugdunum (Lyon) mint. Struck circa A.D. 65. His laureate head right, globe at point of bust; NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP P P / Nero on horseback right, holding spear; behind him rides a soldier carrying a vexillum; S C flanking, DECVRSIO in exergue. RIC I 396. Very Fine; attractive dark green and brown patina with highlights in the devices. Bold portrait, and important reverse type. Well centered on a broad medallic flan.
