The reverse of this issue alludes to the Judgement of Ares, which was initiated by his fellow gods after Ares killed Poseidon's son Halirrhothius for raping his daughter Alkippe. Ares was tried for the murder on the Areopagus in Athens, but he was acquitted and thus emerged unscathed from what the Greeks believed to have been the first trial in the history of the world.
