Nimbate bust of the Virgin orans facing, wearing pallium and maphorium; on her breast, nimbate head of the infant Christ facing; in the fields to left and right, MP and ΘV. Rev. ANΔΡΟNIKOC Half-length bust Andronicus I Comnenus facing, crowned and wearing loros, holding labarum in his right hand and akakia in his left. SB 1987. Attractive deep green patina. Very fine.
