Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Andronicus III, 1282-1328. Trachy (Bronze, 22 mm, 2.00 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis. Nimbate Virgin Mary standing facing, orans, wearing pallium and maphorium; in fields MP - ΘV. Rev. Half-length figures of Andronicus II and Andronicus II standing facing, both holding long cross between them. Andronicus III, on the left, wearing stemma divitision, loros and holding trilobate scepter in his right hand; Andronicus III, on the left, wearing differing kind of stemma, divitision and loros and holding trilobate scepter in his left hand; around, partly legible legend. SB 2464. Very rare. Some areas of weakness as usual, otherwise, very fine.
