IONIA. Magnesia ad Maeandrum. Circa 350-330 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 15.03 g, 10 h), struck under the magistrate Diopethes. Armored cavalryman, helmeted, with his cloak flowing back from his shoulders, and holding a couched lance in his right hand, riding on horse prancing to right. Rev. ΜΑΓΝ/ ΔΙΟΠEIΘ Bull butting left; all within circular maeander pattern. BMC 2. Same obverse die as Gorny & Mosch 146 (2006), 237. Very rare. Toned. Very fine.
