CARIA. Aphrodisias and Plarasa. 1st century BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 3.51 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrate Hephaistion, son of Charixenos. Veiled and diademed bust of Aphrodite to right. Rev. [ΠΛΑP]AΣEΩN KAI Α-ΦΡΟΔΙΣΙΕΩΝ / H/ΦAI/ΣTI/ΩN - XA/PIΞE/NOY Eagle, with closed wings, standing left on thunderbolt. MacDonald, Coinage Type 20 (O21/R48, specimen d, this coin). Extremely rare. Some surface roughness, otherwise, very fine.
