Attica, Athens AR New Style Tetradrachm. Metrodoros, Antiphanes and Miltiades, magistrates. Struck circa 147/6 BC. Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing pendant earring, and triple-crested Attic helmet decorated with the protomes of four horses above the visor, a Pegasos in flight to right above the raised earpiece, and a curvilinear ornament on the bowl / Owl standing to right, head facing, on amphora marked with an A; A-ӨE above ΜHT/POΔΩ/POΣ /ANTI/ΦANHΣ - MIΛ/TIA/ΔHΣ (magistrates' names) across fields, grapes to right, ΠE below; all within wreath. Thompson 633a; HGC 4, 1602. 16.83g, 28mm, 11h.
