Hewlett, Captain L.M. CATALOGUE OF THE COLLECTION OF ANGLO GALLIC COINS FORMED BY CAPTAIN L.M. HEWLETT, T.D., F.R.N.S. London: Spink & Son, 1923. Small 4to, original printed card covers. (6) 38, (2) pages; 224 detailed descriptions; 8 very fine plates. Hand-lettered spine worn; very good with fine interiors. Lionel Mobray Hewlett's notable collection was dispersed in 1922. Included was the portion carefully recorded here, described in the preface as being "probably the most complete collection of Anglo-Gallic coins ever brought together, at any rate since the dispersal of General Ainslie's collection, and it contains most of the well known rarities in the series, as well as some hitherto unpublished." The first copy we've had the opportunity to offer in nearly 20 years.
