Very well preserved, with only some staining to the fore-edge, not affecting the pages, keeping it from fine. Number 139 of only 150 copies printed. Still the standard reference, and the only substantial work ever written on the topic. A handsome, imposing volume, finely illustrated and rendered on a scale no longer feasible. The author was a member of the prestigious New York building firm of Marc Eidlitz & Son, Inc., becoming its president a year after publication of this work. Some of the better-known structures built by the firm include the New York Stock Exchange, the Hotel St. Regis, the Connecticut State Library, the Atlantic Telephone & Telegraph Building, the Western Union Building and the Rockefeller Institute.
