Beautifully Bound Pax in Nummia

First and second parts, bound in one volume. Amsterdam, 1912–1913. Small 4to, full green crushed levant morocco; sides bordered in gilt with gilt floral sprays in corners; spine with five raised bands, ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt; board edges and turn-ins gilt; top page edges gilt; marbled endpapers; original printed white card covers bound in at back. (4), 277, (1) + 36 pages; text illustrations; 1314 listings; 14 halftone plates. Catalogues with slight wear; binding fine. A finely bound copy of both parts of this descriptive catalogue. Scarce and still important, being the largest collection of its kind ever formed. Illustrates far more of the medals than the later auction catalogue (which is listed in Part Two of this sale under Schulman). Ex Phiroze K. Randeria Library, with his engraved Zoroastrian-themed bookplate.
