Dirks, Jacob. BESCHRIJVING DER NEDERLANDSCHE OF OP NEDER-LAND EN NEDERLANDERS BETREKKING HEBBENDE PENNINGEN, GESLAGEN TUSSCHEN NOVEMBER 1813 EN NOVEMBER 1863. Haarlem: de Erven F. Bohn, 1889–1894. Eight parts, complete, as bound in three text volumes and five plate volumes. Text volumes: 8vo, original matching printed paper covers. ix, (3), 488 + (4), 412, (2), vii, (1) + 134 pages [the final pagination being the separately published Tweede Toevoegsel for Volume II (the first supplement being part of the main text)]; lithographic size chart. First volume cracked and split at spine; second volume and supplement very good to fine. Plate volumes: Folio, later cloth backed boards on which have been mounted the original printed paper covers. (8) + (8) + (8) + (8) + (6) pages; 113 lithographic plates + 2 bis plates; 17 supplementary plates lettered A–Q; two replacement plates affixed to front flyleaves in third and fifth volumes, the former with printed errata slip; 16-page cumulative Aanwijzing and printed paper covers laid into final installment. Aanwijzing a bit worn at margins, but otherwise fine. A complete set of this scarce and important work describing and depicting over 900 Dutch medals issued from 1818 to 1863. Clain-Stefanelli 14892.
