Inventory of the Ferrari–Brand Collection of French Coins
[Brand Collection]. INVENTORY OF THE BRAND COLLECTION (DERIVED FROM THE FERRARI COLLECTION) OF FRENCH COINS OF LOUIS XVI, THE REPUBLIC, NAPOLEON AND LOUIS XVIII. Photocopy of an inventory of this segment of the Brand collection, prepared by C. Ecimovich, O. Gray, F.E. Cantwell, M. Palmquist, G. Johnston, and W.J Engelbrecht. Thin folio, later gray cloth, gilt. 43 leaves. Annotated in pencil by Richard Margolis. Fine. Copied from the carbon typescript of the inventory of the Ferrari collection of French coins prepared for the Brand brothers after the death of Virgil Brand. The front endpapers have been extensively annotated by Richard Margolis, giving details on the provenance of the collection and its disposition through Wayte Raymond, tracing major sales to King Farouk through Hans Schulman and subsequent holdings of the coins by O.P Eklund, Ran Zander, Raoul Kraft, Lee Hewitt and Margolis himself. Most interesting.
