William III (1694-1702), 'Fine Work' Five-Guineas, 1701 DECIMO TERTIO, second laureate head right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, plain sceptres in angles, Irish harp without strings, 41.59g, 5h (Spink 3456; MCE 172; Schneider II, 480; Stratos -; EGC 398 'R2'), a newly classified variety according to Bull with traces of wiping in residually lustrous and bagmarked fields, nevertheless a bold very fine and affordable example of this supremely attractive series, struck under the tenure of Sir Isaac Newton.
